Internship, Phnom Penh
The Heinrich Böll Foundation’s Internship Program offers insights into the content and administrational aspects of the foundation's work in Cambodia. We welcome students from all countries and strongly encourage young women and men from Cambodia and the Southeast Asian region to apply.

Interns work in a multicultural context with a particular focus on local culture and society. Advanced students are given the opportunity to work on specific subjects related to their experiences and interests.

Duties: As part of my PhD fieldwork, I am studying the Cambodian oil and mining sectors and the role of "non-traditional" investors in the sector. Specifically, I am looking at Corporate Social Responsibility activities in the extractive industries in Cambodia, the legal and institutional framework governing the resource sector and the diffusion of international norms, policies and regulations. Duties: During my internship, I am studying hydropower development in Cambodia, especially focusing on the case of Lower Se San II, a planned hydropower project on the Se San River in the Northeast. In this regard, I am analyzing the legal and policy framework on hydropower particularly with regard to international best practices.
